Thud! thud! thud go the feet of six Hawkesdale Scouts as the trek their way 20 odd kilometres to their destination - Greenhills. Starting at Hawkesdale at 12 noon the scouts, (Emily, Tim, Georgia, Mitchell, Will and Emma) journeyed east where they girls called in at the Huglin ranch for a “toilet” stop. They then continued along Coltons Road, tudging through the wet grass, arriving at Greenhills at approximately 5.00pm. with the task of setting up camp and ensuring everything was organised they settled in for a long night. Sleep eluded most of them (except the leader), but finally they drifted off. With the sun shining “Greenhills” looked a delight and a tour around the property enlightened the scouts of its history. A relaxing day was had with a little bit of water and mud attracting a few of the members. An early night was on the agenda in preparation for the trek home. Frank joined the walkers on Monday morning and so the group set off. A stop at Colleen’s for lunch, before finally arriving at Hawkesdale at approximately 2.45pm.
